Adopt-a-Road

Come keep Iowa clean! Take a walk on this Saturday morning picking up trash and helping to take care of our chunk of South Dakota road on the southwest-side of Ames! This will probably take 90-120 minutes. Dress for the weather.

Meet at 1790 Giddings St, Kelley, IA 50134. It is an old gas station on the SE corner of Kelley Junction.

Chi Epsilon Scholarships

Application Deadline – Your application and supporting documents must be combined into a single PDF and emailed to your Faculty Advisor by October 15, 2016. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted for further consideration.

While you might be able to use the link shown below, most browsers (including those in Windows 10) will not open the form fillable PDF. To avoid this issue, please right click on the link and “Save link as” to your desktop or other appropriate location. At this point you should be able to open the document with a recent version of Acrobat Reader.

Once completed, applications are subjected to a technical review by the Faculty Advisor before being forwarded to the District Councillor for merit review and ranking. The top two candidates from each District are sent on to the national office for additional consideration by the finalist selection committee. Recipients will be considered for either a National Scholarship – $3,500 or a District Scholarship – $2,000.

ITE Student Webinar Oct 26th

This is an opportunity to both hear from ITE on what is on the horizon and for ITE to hear from you about what is going on within the student chapters and universities. CCEE Poster Competition

Cash prizes will be awarded for the best poster in each area of specialization. We will also have the popular People’s Choice Award based on the votes of students and faculty. This year only 50 posters in total will be accepted, i.e. 10 posters in each area of specialization. If we received more than 10 submissions in each area of specialization, then the abstracts will be evaluated by a committee.

Scholarship: WTS Scholarships – Women Only

Several scholarships are available through our local Greater Chicago Chapter and WTS International.  WTS is an international organization dedicated to the professional advancement of women in transportation.  We are offering four scholarships this year to women pursuing careers in the area of transportation.  Two of the scholarships are for graduate students and two are for undergraduate students.  The scholarships and amounts we are offering from our local chapter are:

–        Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship – $3,000 ($5,000 national)

–        Molitoris Leadership Scholarship for Undergraduates – $2,000 ($5,000 national)

–        Helene M. Overly Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Students – $4,000 ($10,000 national)

–        Leadership Legacy Scholarship for Graduate Students – $2,500 ($5,000 national)

These scholarships are due October 28th.
